Clearing a house of records near Bottesford, or a collection you have inherited
If you are clearing a house, moving somewhere smaller, or sorting records left to you within 30 miles of Bottesford, NG13, I will come and look. I am Steven Gee. Email is best.

If you are clearing a house near Bottesford, moving to somewhere smaller, or sorting records that a parent or relative left behind, you do not have to work out every sleeve before you speak to me.
I am Steven Gee. I live in Bottesford, NG13, in the Vale of Belvoir. Pink Moon is just me. There is no shop, and this is not a business. I buy vinyl for my own shelves. If the records are within 30 miles of my home, I will come and see them in the comfort of your own home. Any situation or quantity is always considered. If you have a very large or unusual collection, I will travel further than 30 miles.
Lofts, shelves and boxes
A clearance rarely looks tidy. The records may be in boxes in the loft, still on the shelves, or piled in a room that is being emptied. They may not have been played for years. That is a common way for a collection to turn up around here: in Bottesford itself, in villages such as Muston, Redmile, Orston and Belvoir, and in places a little further off that are still inside my 30 miles, such as Bingham, Grantham and Newark-on-Trent. The round takes in parts of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. Tell me where you are and I will say if I can come.
You do not need a full list, and you do not need to split the rock from everything else. A rough idea is enough. A few photos attached to an email are enough too: the shelves, the boxes, or a sleeve if one happens to be on top. I would rather view the records in your home than have them posted to me. I can come round and look.
The same is true if you are downsizing. A smaller place often cannot take the shelves with you. I will look at the collection where it is, before it has to be carried out to a van or taken to the tip. If you have a few boxes that have sat unplayed, email me before they go.
What I hope to find when a house is cleared
Late 1960s and early 1970s rock is the music I have loved longest, and I mean any type of it: psychedelic, blues rock, hard rock, progressive, folk rock, heavy rock, early heavy metal, garage and freakbeat. Albums, singles and box sets. Original UK pressings, gatefold sleeves and the old label designs make me smile. Island pink label, Vertigo swirl, Harvest, Charisma, Deram, Atlantic plum, Parlophone and Immediate are names I like to see, though I will look at any copy, including plain, played, well-loved ones. The loud and the quiet, the famous records and the one that never left its sleeve.
A house being cleared is seldom only that. Tell me about the whole collection, not only the rock. I collect all kinds of music for my own shelves, and I may be interested in buying more than the 1960s and 1970s rock: soul and Motown, country, folk, reggae, and mixed boxes from the loft. I collect for my own shelves, so a good record is never turned away.
A collection you have inherited
If the records belonged to someone else, you may not know the names on the labels, or which years they come from. That is all right. You do not have to learn the collection in order to offer it. Say it was a relative's, or that it came with the house, if that is useful. Or simply say there are boxes and you would like me to see them. A few photos and the name of the place are plenty to start. No full list is needed, because I can stand in the room and look.
I am one man, buying records for myself. I will not ask you to bring them to a counter. There is no shop. I come to you.
Email me first
Email is best: diotima2003@yahoo.co.uk. I am happy to take a phone call too, on 07359 456528. My card is also on the notice board at the Post Office in the High Street, Bottesford.
When you write, tell me the village or the town, and whether this is a house being cleared, a move to somewhere smaller, or records you have inherited. Give me a rough idea of what is there, or attach a few photos. That is enough for me to come and view them.
